The El Paso Thunderbirds captured an easy win, 19-3, over the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars at Thunderdome. Bahupatu Ranjitsinhji led the offensive barrage, going 2-for-4 for El Paso. The winning pitcher was Tien Dung Long. His record now stands at 4-4. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Thunderbirds. With the win over Rio de Janeiro, the Thunderbirds improved to 21-26.

With one out in the bottom of the second, Tien Dung Long put El Paso in front, 3-0, with a 2-run single. The Thunderbirds went on to win the ballgame.

"It's a mindset," said Long. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
