Blue Gills Turn Back Dolphins, 3-2
|
The Detroit Blue Gills defeated the Havana Dolphins by the score of 3-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Joy-shan Pian. Pian went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 for the Blue Gills on the day. Picking up his 10th save was 34-year old right-handed pitcher Richard Phillips. Detroit goes to 17-33, Havana to 26-24.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Blue Gills had to cash in when they had the chance.
