Stars Get Thrilling 7-6 Win
The Los Angeles Stars beat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 7-6, in 11 innings at Thunderdome. Sixto Román, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to 33-year old right-handed pitcher Sebastian Sporsheim in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Ben Middleton took the loss. El Paso now is 3-3.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Sanjaya Layar to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Stars on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Andy Hustle, the Los Angeles skipper.
