The Los Angeles Stars defeated the El Paso Thunderbirds, 4-2, in Americas Baseball League action at Field of the Stars. Los Angeles pitcher Maximino Trapa had a standout performance. The Stars sport a record of 21-31.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Su-shun Guang didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and El Paso trailing 4-2, Guang retired António Ribadeneira to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Guang, with a wink.
