Chicago Makes It 6 Straight with 7-5 Win
The Chicago Beefs overcame a pretty good performance by El Paso catcher Fawwaz bin Jalal, beating the Thunderbirds, 7-5, at Beefs Stadium. bin Jalal went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The winner was Luis Gutiérrez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tien Dung Long took the loss. The loss drops the Thunderbirds to 2-4.

Algiers, Algeria-born Ayyad Safwan came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Beefs trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Chicago on top.
