Generals Deal Emperors 2-1 Loss
|
Rome picked up a win at The Bird's Nest, bumping off the Beijing Emperors, 2-1. Pitcher Shih-k'ai Tseng was a major reason the Generals emerged victorious. Lúcio Caso earned the save for Rome, his 15th. The win for the Generals lifted their record to 29-23.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tokimasa Nakada? The Rome shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Generals on top, 2-0. For the game, Nakada had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Tough loss," said Beijing manager Kev In. "The kind that burns a little inside."
