Jaguars Throttled by Beefs, 4-0
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 28-year old third baseman Odílio Pilar, the Chicago Beefs defeated the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 4-0. Gabriel Juárez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 4-1. Chicago is now 25-28. Rio de Janeiro is 34-19.
Felipe Jiménez, who is a three-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Jiménez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Pilar.
