Bonito Lifts Meteors to 6-4 Triumph
Not everyone stuck through the 87-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

Powered by Gualter Bonito, the Melbourne Meteors downed the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 6-4. Bonito hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Meteors. Melbourne reliever Mahmood Hashemi was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Alexander Chaudhry. Wendel Lippelt finished the game for Melbourne and earned his 2nd save.

Bonito had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch fastball from Alexander Chaudhry, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Meteors a 4-3 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Bonito.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Melbourne manager Bob Meteors.

Melbourne is now 27-27.
