Thunderbirds Reel Off Another Win
El Paso right-hander Tien Dung Long pitched his team to victory over the Sao Paulo Toucans at Thunderdome. The final score was 6-4. Long yielded 4 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 5, and struck out 8. His record improves to 5-5. The Thunderbirds have now reeled off 9 straight wins.

The Toucans had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Thunderbirds going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old second baseman Johan Alcova came to the plate. Alcova hit a solo home run on a first pitch changeup from Sao Paulo hurler Talal Yunus. It was Alcova's 6th home run of the year.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Thunderbirds manager AP MP, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
