Generals Paste 6-1 Loss on Falcons
|
Rome starter Octávio Díaz put a stranglehold on the Karachi offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Generals to a 6-1 win. Díaz yielded 1 run over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-4. With this game in the books, Rome is 33-22, Karachi 27-28.
Angelino Baroncelli had a big 2-run double for the Generals in the top of the fifth inning. With Rome leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from 31-year old right-handed pitcher Aleksander Eckhard and swatted a double to center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 5-0.
"Octávio did a nice job," said Generals manager Tx Horns.
