Coqui Best Beefs in Pitching Duel
The Puerto Rico Coqui used a great performance from former first round draft pick Lou Berg to beat the Chicago Beefs, 2-0, at Ballpark of San Juan. Chih-hsiung Chiang closed it out for his 13th save. Puerto Rico currently is in last place in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division at 22-34.

Hiroya Tsuji had a big solo home run for the Coqui in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Puerto Rico leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a slider from Ethan Vergette, who finished 4th in the IBL in innings pitched with 233.0 in 2147, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Coqui on top, 2-0.

"Lou giving us the start that he did was huge," said Puerto Rico manager Kir By.
