Fitzies Take Tight Tilt
|
Starting pitcher Jesús Flores gave the Tokyo Fitzies a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Oslo Voyageurs, 3-2, at OsloDome. Flores yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 4-8. Sunil Chander locked down his 11th save.
Tokyo used a well-timed hit by Erik Andersen to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fitzies ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I like what I saw today," said Tokyo manager Meeks 17, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Tokyo's record now stands at 24-32, placing them last in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
