Blue Gills Win, 4-3

The Detroit Blue Gills turned back the Sao Paulo Toucans, 4-3, at Toucans Ballpark. Kyung-bae Choi, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kalyanasarman Selvam earned the win. Meany Pyne, who leads the ABL in quality starts with 9, took the loss for Sao Paulo. The save was credited to Richard Phillips, his 11th.
With Detroit leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Choi hit a changeup from Meany Pyne for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Blue Gills ahead, 3-0.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Choi told the Detroit Times.
Detroit currently is in last place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division at 20-37.
