Thunderbirds Sneak By Palmchats, 4-3

The El Paso Thunderbirds took Santo Domingo pitcher Jaime Torres's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Estadio Santo Domingo. The final score had El Paso getting past the Palmchats, 4-3. Torres went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Amjad Jahangiri earned the save for El Paso, his 1st. At 27-31, the Thunderbirds find themselves in third place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when second baseman Johan Alcova, who finished 5th in the ABL in runs with 127 in 2145, hit a double. The Thunderbirds went on to win.
Alcova called it "a solid win."
