The El Paso Thunderbirds scooped up a win at Thunderdome, dumping the Sao Paulo Toucans, 8-2. Tien Dung Long, who finished 5th in the IBL in on-base percentage with .393 in 2144, was essential to his team's success. Long, who led the IBL in RBI with 122 in 2146, went the distance for El Paso. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. The loss makes Sao Paulo 29-32.

Bahupatu Ranjitsinhji, who led the ABL in wins above replacement with 9.5 in 2146, chipped in a 3-run home run for El Paso in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
