Fitzies Get One-Run Win at Black Forest
|
The Tokyo Fitzies racked up a win at The Den, bumping off the Black Forest Foxes, 5-4. Wendel Lippelt, who started for Tokyo, pitched effectively for his team. Lippelt, now 5-7, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Fitzies, at 27-34, sit in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
Gualter Bonito dealt the Foxes a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Tokyo leading 4-0, Bonito, who finished 2nd in the IBL in doubles with 49 in 2147, hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Wendel was dictating to their hitters," said Tokyo manager .
