Fitzies Win Squeaker, 4-3, Over Black Rhinos

The Nairobi Black Rhinos could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Amrus Mtembei into a win. Instead, the Tokyo Fitzies prevailed, 4-3. Mtembei threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs. Tokyo reliever Johan Combes picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Boryenka Vohmin absorbed the loss. Tokyo is last in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division with a record of 27-34.
Hwi-gon Park, who is on pace for 107 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Park contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Tokyo up, 3-2.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Nairobi manager J Stell. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
