Chander Whitewashes Toucans
The Goiania Toucans struggled at the plate today against Cherries hurler Sunil Chander, who shackled them on 6 hits while hurling a complete game 5-0 shutout.

"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Toucans skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."

Chander finished the game with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance.

"He pitched real well," Traverse City manager said. "Sunil made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

This season to date Chander has a record of 9 wins and 13 losses with a 3.55 ERA, has appeared in 25 games and struck out 166 in 167.1 innings.
