Black Rhinos Get 4-2 Win Versus Beijing
|
The Nairobi Black Rhinos defeated the Beijing Emperors, 4-2, in Intercontinental Baseball League action at Rhinos Ballpark. Nairobi pitcher Lynn Moore had a standout performance. Moore, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Gerardo Mendoza, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
Yuan Chin went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Nairobi. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Bao-tian Li. It was his 42nd hit of the season.
"I'm happy we won," said Moore. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
Nairobi's record now stands at 30-32, placing them third in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
