Meteors Trip Generals, 4-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Melbourne Meteors beat the Rome Generals, 4-2, in 11 innings. Melbourne pitcher and Matanzas, Cuba, native Adrián Prado led the way. With the win, the Meteors hiked their record to 36-26.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Manny Rodríguez? The 24-year old second baseman Rodríguez stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put Melbourne up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
In postgame remarks, Rodríguez said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
