Stars Win with Late Rally
The Los Angeles Stars wiggled past the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 7-6, at Field of the Stars. The win was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles catcher Brenden Mathaathi. Los Angeles reliever Kareef Gamal picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Britt Leonard was saddled with the loss. The 'W' lifts Los Angeles's record to 24-39.

Los Angeles won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and Britt Leonard on the mound for Rio de Janeiro, pinch hitter Driss Denis hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Stars fans to their feet.

"The crowd was juiced," said Mathaathi.
