Generals Earn 3-0 Home Win
|
Starting pitcher Ramachandra Ghandi gave the Rome Generals a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 3-0, at The Colosseum. Harvey Yeandle closed it out for his 17th save. The second-place Generals bumped their record to 34-31.
Rome took a 3-0 lead on Hosni Mariuki's 6th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Mariuki hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Nairobi pitcher Amrus Mtembei visibly frustrated.
"Bottom line," said Nairobi skipper J Stell, "we didn't play well enough to win."
