The Melbourne Meteors had to overcome a big game from Beijing right fielder Danny Thomas to leave The Bird's Nest with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5, in 10 innings. Thomas was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. The win belonged to Ismael Mata in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Gonzalo Valdés took the loss for Beijing. The defeat makes Beijing 40-26.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Hudhayfah bin Salah al Din? The Melbourne shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Meteors on top, 6-5. For the game, bin Salah al Din had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

bin Salah al Din told a Melbourne Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
