Chicago Wins, 6-5, Over Aztecs
|
The Chicago Beefs beat the Mexico City Aztecs, 6-5, in 19 innings at Beefs Stadium. José Gómez, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-7 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Casey O'Finan picked up the win in relief for Chicago, while Josh German took the loss. Chicago has now won 4 in a row.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 19th. With no one out, Gómez hit a curveball from Josh German for a solo home run. The Beefs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The crowd was juiced," said Gómez.
