Toucans Take Down Dolphins, 5-4, in 10
|
Fans watched the Sao Paulo Toucans and the Havana Dolphins fight to the finish.
Despite a fine performance by left fielder Junji Yoshino, the Havana Dolphins lost to the Sao Paulo Toucans, 5-4, in 10 innings. Yoshino hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Earning his 1st save of the year was Ha-ro Lee.
Larry White went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Sao Paulo. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Moos van der Woerdt. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"We did enough to win," said White.
With the win, Sao Paulo has a record of 37-30. Havana falls to 28-39.
