Leo Brooks impressed in the 9-3 Rio de Janeiro win over Sao Paulo. Brooks, who leads the ABL in runs scored with 59, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Rio de Janeiro reliever Javier Villegas picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Mudasser Mughal was tagged with the loss. With this game in the books, Rio de Janeiro is 44-25, Sao Paulo 30-39.
With Rio de Janeiro leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Brooks hit a changeup from Mudasser Mughal for a 2-run home run. It was his 22nd home run of the season and put the Jaguars ahead, 4-0.
