Fleur-de-Lis Lose, 7-4, to Nairobi
|
The Nairobi Black Rhinos took on the Paris Fleur-de-Lis at Stade de France.
Ignacio Padilla did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Paris Fleur-de-Lis from being beaten, 7-4, to the Nairobi Black Rhinos at Stade de France. Padilla slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Alexander Chaudhry, the winning pitcher, improved to 7-6. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 0.
Alexander Chaudhry had a big 2-run home run for the Black Rhinos in the top of the sixth inning. With Nairobi leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Pierre Levasseur and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Rhinos ahead, 5-1.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Chaudhry.
Nairobi is 26-45 and Paris, with the loss, 29-42.
