Afzul Khan made an impact in the 7-6 Karachi win over Melbourne. Khan, who finished 2nd in the IBL in doubles with 45 in 2144, went 5 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Reliever Abracham Layar picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Yoichi Matsumoto, who finished 5th in the IBL in saves with 33 in 2141, took the loss. The losses continue to add up for Melbourne, having now dropped 8 straight.

José Villa was the walk-off hero for Karachi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Falcons right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Melbourne manager Bob Meteors.
