The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Havana Dolphins starter Sigit Pane found his groove in his team's 6-2 win over the Sao Paulo Toucans. Kei-thing Shang notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-1. Picking up the save was Armando Acosta, his 1st.
The Dolphins got a big at-bat from third baseman Stefan Oeggl. For the game, Oeggl was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Havana a 4-2 lead.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Pane told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
Havana is now 35-37, Sao Paulo 31-41.
