Foxes Bag 4-1 Win
|
The Black Forest Foxes locked up a win at The Colosseum, knocking off the Rome Generals, 4-1. On the mound for Black Forest was right-hander Mariano Ochoa. He played a major role in the triumph. Scott Merritt finished to wrap up his 17th save. After today's action, Black Forest sits at 35-38; Rome slips to 41-32.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Abdul Salam Durrani? The Black Forest left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Foxes on top, 2-1. For the game, Durrani had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Black Forest manager DP Woodford.
