Twice as Nice: El Paso Extends Lead to 2-0 With Walk-off Win
Behind the big bat of center fielder Thao Trung, the El Paso Thunderbirds have opened up a healthy early lead in the League Championship Series. The Thunderbirds topped the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 5-4, at Thunderdome in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Trung went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs to power El Paso to victory.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Trung hit a slider from Tony Jiménez for a solo home run. The Thunderbirds, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It was a good effort all around," said Trung.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Rio de Janeiro Grounds in Rio de Janeiro.
