Monks Rally Past Falcons to Claim 2-0 Series Lead
Behind the big bat of second baseman Ya'qub bin Esam, the Daegu Monks have opened up a healthy early lead in the Divisional Series. The Monks topped the Karachi Falcons 10-6 at Monks Stadium today in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. bin Esam was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 to power Daegu to victory.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, bin Esam hit a sinker from Akantaka Srikrisna for a grand slam home run. The Monks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"It's a gut punch," Falcons manager Slu Baseball said, "to get here and find ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."

Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium in Karachi.
