Karachi Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
|
The Karachi Falcons have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Daegu Monks, winning 12-6 at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium today. Falcons shortstop Ritter Loheit was 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Falcons to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Gerald Holmes came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Daegu pitcher Cornélio Tender, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Karachi on top, 8-6.
"It was a solid team effort," said Loheit after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium in Karachi.
