Host Falcons Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
The Daegu Monks moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the Karachi Falcons on the road at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium by a score of 6-5. Monks third baseman Bobby Wheeler went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win gives the Monks a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Tien Dung Long was a prime contributor to the Daegu win. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. In the top of the seventh with two out, the 2146 IBL home run champion hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 5-4, in favor of the Monks.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Karachi manager Slu Baseball. "But we decided not to take it."

Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at Monks Stadium in Daegu.
