Jaguars Clip Thunderbirds, 3-2, in CS Contest
|
Leave it to the veteran.
The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Preki Cvetkovic, as Rio de Janeiro won the contest, 3-2, at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. Cvetkovic threw 6.1 innings allowing 2 runs in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 2-2.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Jaguars had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Naruhiko Goto hit a run-scoring double. The double came off Tsu-wee Shih and made the score 3-0, Jaguars. Goto was 1 for 4 with a double.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said El Paso manager AP MP. "We just didn't cash in."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rio de Janeiro Grounds in Rio de Janeiro.
