Home Loss Shrinks Emperors Series Lead to 2-1
The Daegu Monks have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Beijing Emperors, winning, 7-3, at The Bird's Nest. Monks right-hander Matt Gentry threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Monks to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Nicolai Lednin had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With two out and a runner on 2nd, the Daegu right fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Monks in front, 4-3.

Lednin attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Bird's Nest in Beijing.
