Home Field Advantage: Finlater, Rome Open League Championship Series with Win
|
The Rome Generals powered past the visiting Karachi Falcons, 3-1, in the opener of the League Championship Series at The Colosseum today. Rome starting pitcher Gregor Finlater threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Generals now lead the series 1-0.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Guo-qing Liu came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Karachi pitcher Akantaka Srikrisna, he hit a 1-2 sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Rome on top, 3-1.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Rome manager Tx Horns.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Colosseum in Rome.
