Thunderbirds Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
The El Paso Thunderbirds and Detroit Blue Gills put on quite a show.

The El Paso Thunderbirds topped the Detroit Blue Gills by a score of 9-4 in 10 innings. Leading the way was left fielder Finlay Hewitt. Hewitt was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Thunderbirds. El Paso reliever Ben Middleton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Malo Thiery was saddled with the loss.

El Paso used the hitting of Cheng-ho Tieh to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 5-4. For the game, Tieh had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Hewitt.
