Peña Blasts Emperors, Monks Take Game 6, 9-3
The Daegu Monks and the Beijing Emperors will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation, the Monks beat the Emperors, 9-3, at Monks Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Daegu shortstop Miguel Peña went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Pie-qi Liao, who finished 3rd in the IBL in hits with 198 last year, helped out the Daegu cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"I really like what we did out there today," Peña said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Monks Stadium in Daegu.
