Almost There: Karachi On Cusp of CS Triumph After 9-5 Win
The Karachi Falcons moved to within one game of the WBA Championship Series today, downing the visiting Rome Generals at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium by a score of 9-5. Falcons right fielder Gerald Holmes did some major damage. He was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double, while scoring 3 runs. The win gives the Falcons a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Late in the game, third baseman Haden Chapman had a big at-bat for Karachi. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a 2-run double off Tom Davis. The play gave the Falcons a 6-5 lead.

"We haven't stopped playing," Rome manager Tx Horns said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Muhammad Ali Jinnah Stadium in Karachi.
