Pivotal Game 5 Goes to Host Palmchats, 6-3

Leave it to the veteran.
The Santo Domingo Palmchats got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Jaime Torres, as Santo Domingo won the contest, 6-3, at Estadio Santo Domingo. Torres threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Santo Domingo to grab a 3-2 lead in the best-of-9 series.
Torres, a native of Texcoco, Mexico, was dealing all game. He kept Karachi hitters off-balance, while giving the Palmchats 7 quality innings. Torres threw 88 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7.
"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Santo Domingo Palmchats (probably) 2147 WBA Championship Series Champions'," Torres told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo.
