Meteors Upend Foxes, 5-1
|
Frederick Segala pitched a gem to lead Melbourne to victory over the Black Forest Foxes, 5-1. Segala, now 8-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Ismael Mata recorded the save, his 5th.
Luther Schneider, the Melbourne catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 1-0, Meteors. For the game, Schneider was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Black Forest manager DP Woodford.
The second-place Meteors go to 43-31.
