The Detroit Blue Gills topped the Los Angeles Stars, 6-2, in Americas Baseball League action at Field of the Stars. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Melton, Australia, native Ethan Atkins. The winner was Atkins. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Maximino Trapa. Yes, it was a win for Detroit; but their 23-52 mark is nothing to crow about.
