Pharaohs Curb Foxes, 4-3
|
The Cairo Pharaohs scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Black Forest Foxes at Pharaohs Ballpark. Cairo pitcher Noah Tustain held his own in the contest. Pang Chang recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 6 for 7. Cairo sits in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division at 33-45.
Mishago Wambugu had a big 2-run home run for the Pharaohs in the bottom of the first inning. With Cairo trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Anuhlada Phadkar, who finished 4th in the IBL in saves with 30 last year, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Pharaohs on top, 2-1.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Wambugu.
