Chicago Swaps King to Sao Paulo for Gonzáles Monday, January 19th , 2150 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Chicago and Sao Paulo have made a swap with 22-year old minor league 2B Jeremy King and 22-year old minor league RHP Jihad bin Ghazi being shipped to the Toucans and in return the Beefs would get 24-year old minor league 2B Max Scroggs and 25-year old minor league 2B António Gonzáles. Chicago general manager Mikes L. Son said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Chicago organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. |
