Tareen Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Thursday, August 20th , 2150
Some days, a great game just isn't enough.
Gabir Tareen of the Los Angeles Stars found that out the hard way. Tareen had a great day at the plate, pounding out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and hitting for the cycle, but watched the Puerto Rico Coqui win the game, 8-5.
"It is a frustrating feeling to know you did so much and still lost," the 26-year-old right fielder said later. "But it is a feeling you have to get used to if you want to play baseball for very long. It just happens."
Tareen had 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run, as well as 1 run batted in and 3 runs scored in the contest.
Gabir Tareen singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Lou Berg in the 9th.
Currently Tareen is batting .276 with 7 home runs and 32 RBIs.
