Red-Hot Pitcher Chills Out on Award

Clodio Castanhedo made a lot of Los Angeles fans happy this month. He not only put up a fine 1-1 won-lost record, he also was named the Rookie of the Month in the Americas Baseball League.
In June, he made 0 starts and compiled an impressive 2.16 ERA, allowing teams to hit only .228 against him.
For the year, Castanhedo has made 27 relief appearances and claimed 18 saves. His record is 1-3 with 24 strikeouts in 31.2 innings and a 1.99 ERA.
