Big Day with Bat: Belmondo 5-for-6

All game long, El Paso's Gianpaolo Belmondo was rattling the walls at Estadio Santo Domingo and banging out base hits against the Santo Domingo Palmchats. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Thunderbirds had a win, 13-6.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 27-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Gianpaolo Belmondo singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
For the season, Belmondo is currently batting .309 with 38 home runs and 91 RBIs. In 136 games he has reached base at a .355 rate and scored 106 runs to date.
