Hammer Batters Nairobi Big Time
Thursday, September 4th , 2149
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Black Forest's 12-3 win over Nairobi, third baseman Rafael Hammer was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Rhinos Ballpark.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Hammer said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Rafael Hammer hit a two-run home run off Sillvestre Charters in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For the season, Hammer has produced 158 hits in 477 at-bats for a .331 average with 21 home runs and gotten on base at a .395 clip.
