League Punishes Pair for Fighting Wednesday, September 24th , 2138
Yesterday at Ballpark at Puget Sound Fouad Ambar and Reynaldo Quintero got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Northwest Emeralds and Los Angeles Stars. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Ambar will have to sit out 4 while Quintero would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
Thus far this year Ambar has hit .270 with 22 home runs and 91 RBIs.
So far this year Quintero has a 10-10 record with a 4.72 ERA.
